Aries: Strawberry & Basil
Basil is a traditional hot herb of Mars, planetary ruler of Aries, that helps heat and protect the body from infection and venom (aries is the sign of the warrior, basil acts internally as a warrior). Sweet strawberry is an antidote to the fiery heat of Aries as it has cooling, soothing, and anti-inammatory properties.
Taurus: Vanilla & Hibiscus
Vanilla and Hibiscus are associated with Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus. The sweetness and aphrodisiac qualities of Vanilla embody Taurean sensuality, while Hibiscus’s soothing, sour, cooling, drying properties help balance out Taurus’s warm, sweet qualities.
Gemini: Lemon & Thyme
Thyme is an herb traditionally with the air element, breath, and lungs, and the nervous system, all associated with Gemini. Chamomile is a traditionally Lunar plant, ruler of sweet Cancer, that has associations with nighttime, childhood innocence, and sleep, all Cancerian qualities. Apples were used in Ancient Roman times at the festival of Diana, goddess of the moon and ruling goddess of Cancer.
Leo: Peach & Marigold
Marigold looks like a mini Sun, the ruler of Leo, and it’s bright appearance and wound healing properties are both associated with the vitality of the Sun. Peaches are a symbol of late summer, season of Leo and themselves look like a mini sun, and are also associated with vitality and longevity.
Virgo: Rosemary & Mint
Mint + Rosemary are both associated with Mercury, the ruling planet of Virgo. Mint aids digestion, which is associated with Virgo. Rosemary helps with memory which is useful for the intellectual, studious Virgo.

Roses are ruled by Venus, goddess of love, beauty, and planetary ruler of Libra. Libra is the sign of marriage and elegance, both of which are associated with Champagne.
Scorpio: Blood Orange & Elder Flower
Elder is a master plant known for its immune protecting qualities, but is also poisonous if used incorrectly, like many herbs of Scorpio. Scorpio is associated with poisons (like the sting of a scorpion), and also protection and survival, qualities of Elder. Elder is also highly cyclical and has dierent properties at dierent times of the year(flower or berry) and Scorpio rules the cycles of death and rebirth. Scorpio’s traditional ruler Mars is associated with blood, like the color of the Blood Orange, and first bears fruit in November, which is Scorpio season (for those of us in Southern CA that is).
Sagittarius: Grapefruit & Hops
Sagitarrius is associated with parties, the liver, and the sour taste. Hops is actually a liver cleanser, but in beer it embodies more of the party side of Sagitarrius. Grapefruit is associated with the fire element, hope, and optimism, all of which are associated with the Sagitarrian nature.
Capricorn: Blueberry & Nettle
Nettle’s sting is highly protective, just like the boundaries of Capricorn. Saturn- ruled Capricorn teaches us where we end and others begin. Nettle is also highly mineralizing and Capricorn is associated with minerals of the earth. Blueberry also has protective qualities, and has a history of being placed at thresholds to aid in warding off evil.
Aquarius: Lavender & Lemongrass
Lavender’s strong aroma indicates that it’s associated with the air element, just like Aquarius. Lemongrass’ warm nature is balancing for the cold midwinter qualities associated with this sign. Both Lemongrass and Lavender are said to aid the mind, Lemongrass uplifts and Lavender soothes, which is useful for the visionary, inventive Aquarius.
Pisces: Sage & Marshmallow
Pisces, a water sign, rules all things spirit, energy, and intuition. Mystical Sage is said to increase dream activity, psychic gifts, and energetically puries spaces. Marshmallow’s sweetness and association with water reflects the gentle, watery, emotional nature of Pisces.
